Mask Dance


Mask Dances are very common in Bhutan.The dance of the fearsome divinities,involves a ritual sacrifice whereby the enemies of the doctrine are destroyed.Through this gesture,the dances rid the world of demons and evil spirits,they also eliminate inner enemies such as the ego obstacles and mental darkness that prevent each individual from achieving Enlightenment.
mask dances are energetic and graceful,the dances bend and leap high in the air,their robes flowing and swirling and their hands with or with out a sword,moving in various gestures.

ഒടുവില്‍, ഒലിവുമരങ്ങള്‍ കിന്നാരം മൂളുന്ന , നിലാവ് പെയ്തിറങ്ങിയ രാത്രിയില്‍ കിനാവിന്‍റെ കാണാതീരങ്ങളില്‍ അവന്‍ കുളുര്‍മഴയായി അഗ്നിയായി വെളിപാടുകളായി പെയ്തിറങ്ങി. നീണ്ടു ഇടതൂര്‍ന്ന കണ്പീലികള്‍ക്കിടയില്‍ പൂത്തുലഞ്ഞ സോപ്നങ്ങളും നനുത്തു നേര്‍ത്ത അധരങ്ങളിലെ പിടയുന്ന സന്തോഷങ്ങളും കരളിലെ ചിമിഴില്‍ ഒളിപ്പിച്ചു വെച്ച മോഹങ്ങളും കവര്‍ന്നെടുത്തു , സ്വൊന്തം ഹൃദയം അവന്‍ അവള്‍ക്കു കൈമാറി , '' ഇത് നീ സൂക്ഷിച്ചുകൊള്ളുക''. രാവിന്റെ അവസാന യാമത്തിനും പുലരിയുടെ ആദ്യ തുടിപ്പിനും ഇടയിലുള്ള ആ നിമിഷങ്ങളില്‍ , അന്ന് ആദ്യമായി അവളുടെ കണ്ണുകള്‍ നിറഞ്ഞു.. കരള്‍ മുറിഞ്ഞു ... പിടയുന്ന അവന്റെ കരള്‍ ചേര്‍ത്തുപിടിച്ചു അവള്‍ മെല്ലെ മന്ത്രിച്ചു , ''ഇത് ഒരിക്കലും തിരികെ ചോദിക്കരുത്...''

ഓര്‍മ്മകള്‍....

അയാള്‍ എങ്ങനാണ് എന്റെ നിനവുകളിലേക്ക് പിന്നെ നേര്‍ത്ത് നനുത്ത ചിന്തകളിലേക്ക് കടന്നു വന്നത് എന്ന് എനിക്കരീല്ല.ഒന്ന് സത്യമാണ്,എരിയുന്ന പകലുകള്‍ക്കും തുടുത്ത സന്ധ്യകള്‍ക്കും രാത്രിയുടെ അവസാന യാമങ്ങളില്‍ എപ്പോളോ കണ്ടുണരുന്ന സോപ്നനങ്ങള്‍ക്കും പകരം വയ്ക്കുവാന്‍ ഇല്ലാതെ പോയ എന്തോ ഒന്ന് അയാളില്‍ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.കാമ്പസിന്റെ ഇടനാഴികളില്‍ കൂടി എല്ലാരേം ചിരിപ്പിച്ചും ആരെയും വകവേക്കാതെയും അലഞ്ഞു നടന്ന എനിക്ക് ''അഹങ്കാരി '' എന്ന ഓമനപ്പേര് ആദ്യം സമ്മാനിച്ചത്‌ അയാളാരുന്നു. സായാഹ്നത്തില്‍ അയാളെ കാണുവാനായി യാത്രക്കൊരുങ്ങുംപോള്‍ ലക്ഷ്മിയും ഒപ്പം വരാം എന്ന് സമ്മതിച്ചതില്‍ തെല്ലു വിസ്മയം തോന്നാതിരുന്നില്ല. യാത്രയിലുടനീളം ലക്ഷ്മി അയാളെക്കുറിച്ച് മാത്രം സംസാരിച്ചപ്പോള്‍ എന്തോ ,എന്റെ മനസ് അസ്വസ്ഥമായി.ബസ്‌ ഇറങ്ങിയ നാല്‍കവലയില്‍ പൂക്കട തേടി നടന്നു അവള്‍ മുല്ലപ്പൂ വാങ്ങി തലയില്‍ ചൂടിയപ്പോള്‍ ഞാന്‍ വീണ്ടും കാരണമറിയാതെ വേദനിച്ചു.''മുല്ലപ്പൂക്കള്‍ ഇഷ്ടമാണെന്ന് ''അയാള്‍ എപ്പോളും പറയാറുള്ളത് ഞാനോര്‍ത്തു.മണ്പാതയിലൂടെ കയ്യ്കള്‍ കോര്‍ത്ത്‌ ,ഓരോ പുല്ലിനേം പൂക്കളെയും ലാളിച്ചു തമാശകള്‍ പറഞ്ഞു പ...

Life In Between

B eing a teacher in Bhutan,especially in Ugyen Academy,you can't remain just as a teacher.as a parent.or you can never remain as an ordinary human being.The' emotional bundles ' stuffed in uniforms are ready to toss you in the air,fry you even without fire and you will be vanished by the smoke...........unless you are an extra ordinary. You can survive only if you are ready to flow with them,letting them to know they have to swim against with you sometimes. Teaching in 12 Arts D is an ever wondering and enriching experience.And let me say it is a good exercise for your nerves,throat,stomach,head and a refreshing experience to your mind too.
